VSS LISTING

The VSS List refers to the Vehicle Security System List.

This list is a collaboration between the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA), and the South African Insurance Association (SAIA), where the security information of vehicles is captured and placed on register.

This register is maintained by VSS Administrative services in a secured data centre.

Manufacturers or agents electronically submit all information to the system via the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB) form submission.

The VSS list then indicates whether the security within the vehicle is compliant to standards set by the VSS committee and under management of NAAMSA, and bases its approval on a scoring system that combines security features installed in the vehicles

Note that the Vehicle Security Systems within a vehicle is made up of a combination of all security features including physical and electronic components within a vehicle.
